Benjamin Perkins by Ann McQueen

Niklovis Family Hymns

Alberta Lyman O'Brien arranged and put on paper the music that she remembered from her childhood.  I honestly see this as such a time consuming task on her part.  Such a neat gift for us to still have!
I believe these whimsical songs were compiled by Queengie, but most come from another book compiled by her nephew Scott Thomas Lyman and his wife Lyn.

Niklovis Family Songs We Sang and Still Sing

Going through the box of books, letters, papers that Queengie left when she passed, I saw various books with the word of Niklovis in the title.  I had thought it was a family from Moab, or friends, and couldn't understand why their songs were so important to Queengie. After asking Paula if she knew what Niklovis was, she told her daughter Leigh that they were songs that she and her sisters would sing. The forward written by Queengie at the beginning of this book describes it even more what it is.  One part that really stood out to me was that Platte D Lyman and his wife Adelia were very poor.  So poor, in fact, that it caused three of their small children to die from malnutrition.  That is so heartbreaking to me.  When he would go on trips for his Church calling, he would promise to come home with a gift.  The gifts were songs.  Queengie said they were songs that have survived for five or six generations and would like to keep them alive. So here is on...

Jim and Ann McQueen Family Poems

This is a book composed of poems mostly written by Ann to different family members, but there are some written by Albert R Lyman, some written by Jim McQueen and some written by the kids.  I honestly had no idea that Queengie wrote poems!   (There are a few pages "missing" but they were blank pages and I didn't scan those in)

Albert R Lyman writings: The Fathers: panorama of my years, Praise

Albert R Lyman's daughter Ky, Klar Lyman Bishop, typed these writings.

Eliza Maria Partridge Journal

Eliza Maria Partridge has always been a fascinating character in my family history line. Not only was she the daughter of Edward Partridge, the first Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in this dispensation, but she was also briefly married to Joseph Smith. All of the trials and tribulations she lived through losing her husband, her home, and traveling across the plains leave me in awe of her unwaivering faith. Even when her husband Amasa Lyman left the Church, she stayed as a strong member.

Jean McQueen Kidd

Jeanie McQueenie Kidd.  That's my Mom. She was the best in the world in everything but journal writing. We have just a few pages from her journal and they are added below. I have also added in some notes that she had folded up in her journal.  Any written material from her is gold for us
